Sculptra® is a collagen stimulator rather than a filler. It works under the skin to rebuild your own collagen gradually, so the change arrives over months and looks like you, not like something added.
Made from poly-L-lactic acid, Sculptra® is injected into the deeper layers of the skin where it prompts your body to produce its own type 1 collagen. That collagen is the scaffolding that thins as we age, and as it rebuilds, firmness and structure come back with it.
Because the result builds slowly over about three months, nobody sees a sudden change. A course is usually two or three sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart, and the result can last up to two years. Every course starts with a consultation so we can confirm it is the right approach for your skin.

FAQs
How is Sculptra different from dermal filler?
A filler adds volume the moment it goes in. Sculptra adds almost nothing on the day: it stimulates your own collagen, so the result builds gradually over the weeks that follow and is your own tissue rather than a gel.
How long until I see a result?
Collagen takes time to build, so most people notice the change from around six weeks, with the full result at about three months after the last session.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually two or three, spaced six to eight weeks apart. We will confirm the number at your consultation once we have assessed your skin.
How long does it last?
Up to two years for most people, after which a single top up session usually maintains it.
Is there any downtime?
You can return to normal life the same day. Some swelling, redness or small bruises at the injection points are normal and settle within a few days. We will ask you to massage the area for a few days afterwards, and we will show you how.
